The French firewood market
French wholesalers work across merchant yards, garden centres, supermarkets and specialist fuel retail. These channels require different product sizes, packaging and supporting information.
Our role as a direct producer is to turn those requirements into a clear production and packing specification.
Freight to France
Road and container routes can be assessed for French destinations after volume, product mix and unloading arrangements are known.
The quotation confirms the applicable freight basis and timing for that order.
Species and packaging for the French trade
Chêne (oak) sits at the top of the French premium range — slow, hot, long burn. Bouleau (birch) is the volume all-rounder for both merchant sales and retail bags. Frêne (ash) is popular for stoves where high heat output matters.
Packaging: 1m³ and 2m³ hardwood crates for merchants and garden centres, 22L and 40L retail bags for supermarkets and stations-service, kindling pallets, and wood briquette bundles.

Tervete Wood is a direct firewood producer in Tervete, Latvia, and part of Agrolats Group, Latvia’s largest agricultural company group. Wholesalers work directly with our production team, without middlemen, drawing on 10+ years of firewood production experience.
Agrolats Group reports 40 partner companies, more than 25 years of experience, over 500 employment opportunities created and more than 15,000 hectares of agricultural land managed. Tervete Wood benefits from that wider group foundation.
We process approximately 3,000 m³ of round timber and produce approximately 80 truckloads of firewood per month. Our factory uses a state-of-the-art Pezzolato splitting system, 2 MW of heating power and 600 m³ of fully automated, firewood-specific kiln capacity. Supply schedules and specifications are agreed with each buyer.
