Planning a firewood order from Latvia to the UK

A successful import starts before freight is booked. The buyer and producer should agree the product, destination requirements and responsibility for each document.

Define the sales format

State whether the product will be sold in retail bags, crates or bulk. UK requirements can differ by product and sales channel, so obtain current compliance advice.

Do not assume certification

A moisture specification is not the same as Ready to Burn certification. Tervete Wood does not currently claim that certification on this website; request the evidence your channel needs.

Prepare import responsibilities

The UK importer should confirm commodity classification, plant-health requirements, declarations and taxes with its broker. Supplier-side documents should be listed in the order.

Request a current transport plan

Share the destination, unloading capability, formats and volume. The resulting quotation should state quantity, freight basis and schedule for that order.
